Here is some important information for all participating in the current season of the Brandon Women’s Basketball League:
Games are played every Wednesday at Earl Oxford School (corner of 18th Street and Victoria Ave in Brandon) from 6:45pm to 8pm. Warm up starts at 6:45pm and the game starts promptly at 7pm. We have a great referee that will be at every game to help us keep things straight and hold us accountable. You can view the complete schedule and scoreboard here.
To ensure that everyone gets fair playing time, we will have a full-time score-keeper that will ensure that player substitution happens every few minutes. Players on the court must sub off and allow their teammates to have their turn.
Please make sure that you are parking in the Bus Loop “parking lot” when you can (see attached image). The other parking lot is for teachers/staff, and I wouldn’t want to block someone’s spot if they need it. In spring, the bus loop parking area gets a little messy, so make sure you have appropriate footwear.
ALSO – please make sure that you do NOT leave your vehicle in either parking lot after the game ends. Your vehicle will be in the way of buses, staff and students, and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
The custodian has suggested that we leave our outdoor footwear just inside the gym. There is band practice going on while we are in the gym, and he wouldn’t want our stuff to go missing from the front entrance.
PLEASE PAY YOUR FEES by e-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you need to make special arrangements, please email Brady at email@example.com.
***Your fee must be paid before you will be permitted to play or receive your jersey.***
Players must be at least 18 years of age by DECEMBER 31 of the playing year. So as not to interfere with the MHSAA basketball league, players turning 18 by December 31 and currently playing MHSAA high school basketball are eligible to play in the BWBL, but must put their high school league as top priority.
If you have any questions about registration, game days, or general inquires, feel free to email Brady Penner at firstname.lastname@example.org.
REFUND POLICY: If you find that you have too many other commitments or you are just not as interested in basketball as you maybe once were, notify Brady Penner, the organizer, within 2 weeks of the league start date (2 game days) and you will be eligible to receive a 50% refund. Once you return your jersey, your registration fee will be refunded to you, and you will be removed from the team. There will be no refund policy after the first 2 game days.
